We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Services professional to join our LICSW unit in Spokane, WA. Shift and Schedule
Night Shift (4 x 10 hours): 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in social services, particularly in psychiatric or acute hospital settings
- Proficiency with Epic charting system (required)
- Certification as LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC (required)
- Hands-on experience in psychiatric hospital settings including managing 5150/Involuntary holds
- Expertise in conducting comprehensive intake and admission screenings
- Ability to perform thorough bio-psychosocial assessments
- Strong patient and family education, support, and advocacy skills
- Proven knowledge in Adoption/Foster Care and Protective Services including adult and child protective services
- Capability to conduct crisis assessments and interventions related to teen suicide, drug/alcohol issues, and school violence
- Skills coordinating care collaboratively with internal and external multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity
- Understanding of major disease processes including Dementia and psychiatric disorders
- Knowledge of cultural issues and community programs including Medicaid and Medicare
- Ability to work effectively in emergency department and psychiatric hospital units
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct complete intake and admission screenings for psychiatric patients, including voluntary and involuntary holds (5150)
- Perform comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and initial evaluations to inform treatment planning
- Provide ongoing patient and family education, support, and advocacy to facilitate understanding and engagement
- Identify social, emotional, behavioral, and trauma-related concerns and develop appropriate intervention plans
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including internal staff and external community resources to ensure seamless patient care and discharge planning
- Manage cases with an emphasis on care coordination and utilization review, ensuring efficient resource use
- Facilitate crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing mental health emergencies or acute distress
- Work closely with protective services – adult and child – including managing emergency detentions, guardianships, and powers of attorney
- Prepare clinical assessment reports and document pertinent information accurately within the Epic system
- Provide individualized education to patients and caregivers to support discharge readiness and continuity of care
- Apply professional ethical principles and advocate for culturally sensitive care delivery
Qualifications
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in psychiatric social work, preferably within hospital settings
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system for accurate and timely documentation
- Demonstrated experience with crisis assessment, intervention, and management
- Solid understanding of state protective services statutes and procedures including adult and child protective services
- Ability to work night shifts as scheduled
- Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing case documentation and care coordination
Compensation and Benefits
